Versatile toaster
THE new Virtu Toaster (from Kenwood, $99.95) is an all-in-one toaster and sandwich press that’s convenient and space saving. It looks like an average toaster, but has a wide, adjustable slot to accommodate bread of any size and thickness. The toaster also features “peek and view” technology so you can check on food without interrupting the cooking process.

Rapid-boil kettle
KENWOOD’S new range of rapid-boil kettles features a re-boiling function; once the water has boiled, the keep-warm function maintains the temperature of 80 degrees Celsius so that when required, the water re-boils in seconds. Available in two styles: the JK910 ($79.95) features a transparent body and adds a splash of colour – lilac when boiling and red when maintaining the temperature in preparation for express re-boil; and the SJM601 ($89.95), which boasts a sleek stainless-steel look, 1.7-litre capacity and large water window.
