‘Green’ water saves bottles
Published in Lifestyle - Body on 07 August, 2008

BRITA has launched “mygreenbottle”, a refillable and durable water bottle to enable Australians to switch away from disposable plastic bottles.
According to the Australian Beverage Council, at least 60 per cent of PET plastic bottles used in Australia are not recycled and usually end up as litter or in landfill.
Australia’s annual use of disposable bottles generates the same amount of greenhouse gas emissions as 13,000 cars over the course of a year.
Through the mygreenbottle.com.au website, consumers can pledge to switch to the reusable water bottle, refrain from using disposable bottles and so make a difference in reducing waste going to landfill.
As part of the program, Brita has partnered with Greening Australia to plant up to 30,000 native trees in their River Regeneration Projects.
Brita also has a handy “Fill & Go” sports water bottle with a filter inside, which can be refilled at any tap.
