“The Dark Knight”
Rated M 152 Minutes.

BESIDES being the best Batman movie ever made, the real star of “The Dark Knight” is Heath Ledger, with his phenomenal portrayal of the deranged Joker (which eclipses Jack Nicholson’s role in the 1989 version) and whose performance should be considered worthy of a posthumous Academy Award.
Despite Christian Bale’s realistic portrayal of Batman, it is Ledger’s Joker (not to mention his celebrated saying “why so serious?”) that steals the show.
Aside from the stellar cast – Michael Caine (Alfred), Morgan Freeman (Wayne Enterprises CEO Lucius Fox) and Gary Oldman (Police Commissioner Jim Gordon) – Ledger’s performance is a tour de force.
In addition to the star-studded line-up and a well-developed story, it is also the action in this movie that really ignites the screen and demonstrates the effective use of special effects (through the caped-crusader’s latest array of hi-tech equipment) in Batman’s fight sequences initially against the evil Joker and then Two-face.
Verdict: Absolutely awesome, 9/10.
