CANBERRANS who replace their thirsty single-flush toilets with more efficient dual-flush toilets are eligible for a $100 ACT Government rebate.
The ACT Government’s ToiletSmart rebate program, part of the “Think water, act water” initiative will provide up to 4400 dual-flush toilet rebates to improve water efficiency.
ACT homeowners will receive a $100 rebate for replacing a single-flush toilet suite with a fully installed four-star, water-efficient dual-flush toilet suite.
Replacing an 11-litre, single-flush toilet with a dual-flush toilet that uses a 4.5-litre full flush and a three-litre half flush will result in an average annual saving of 36,600 litres.
ToiletSmart participants may choose from three different Caroma toilet suites. The prices, after the ACT Government rebate including GST and the costs of a standard installation, start at $365.
The program is being delivered through a partnership between the ACT Government, Caroma Dorf and the Master Plumbers Association ACT.
