Robyn Hendry
Chief executive, Canberra Convention Bureau Inc.

How long have you been in your role?

Three years.
What do you enjoy about it?
Establishing the strategic links between organisations and demonstrating the pride we feel about Canberra (and all our national capital assets) in a really practical way when bidding for business events.
What’s top of your agenda?
Contributing to the strengthening of Canberra’s role as the national capital while generating income, employment and trade for the local economy through business event tourism.
What Canberra’s biggest issue at the moment?
I can only speak about the area in which I work and fierce competition is alive and well, both from within and outside Australia. Canberra as a city also has a few capacity constraints which will need to be addressed in the near future for us to reach our market growth goals.
What would you be doing if you weren’t in this job?
Something that has a strategic focus and contributes to the prosperity of many. Pretty much the same as I am doing now!
