THERE’S no colour quite like yellow to add a ray of sunshine to a gloomy day.
Softer shades of yellow may be mellow, while sunny shades evoke joy and lift the spirit.
It’s the colour of sunshine, spring and lemon drops, daffodils, daisies and buttercups.
Just as the arrival of the first daffodil brings the hope of spring, Daffodil Day is also a symbol of hope for many Australians.
This year, Daffodil Day falls on Friday, August 22.
The Cancer Council says it’s the largest fund-raising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, a day when Australians are invited to unite and lend their support to the fight against cancer.
It is also a day to celebrate the spirit of cancer survivors and their families, carers and medical specialists, bringing hope for the future.
The money raised will help the Cancer Council to fund essential services, education and research programs.
We found some fabulous fashion pieces from leading Canberra retailers to celebrate the colour yellow, daffodils, spring and sunshine.
