By Megan Haggan THE lovely Elkie Stuart has been named the 2008 Myer Face of Canberra Racing, at a cocktail event held at Thoroughbred Park. My fellow judges – WIN TV’s Jessica Good, international model Belinda Riding and Myer store manager Brian Cronk – and I faced the difficult decision of choosing between more than 40 contestants. Contestants entered by writing a short essay, and modelled their choice of classic race wear on the night. We chose Elkie for her style, poise, elegant interpretation of classic race wear and attention to detail – her outfit came complete with umbrella! Her family history of horse racing stretches back three generations. She’s now looking forward to the Kennards Hire Canberra Cup on Sunday, November 30, where she will be judging fashions on the field.
